A novel training game to improve memory in people with Mild Cognitive Impairment

The Project

The “Brain Blossom” game was developed to provide a non-invasive, effective treatment for memory deficits associated with early stages of Alzheimer’s disease, namely in patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment. By combining gardening-based activities with targeted cognitive exercises, “Brain Blossom” aims to improve players’ memory abilities.

In collaboration with neuroscientists and clinical experts, the game Differential Outcome Training to improve memory abilities. The game trains memory pathways that are often preserved during early stages of dementia. The project will be accompanied by a clinical validation to investigate whether training memory with the “Brain Blossom” game can be effective in improving memory abilities of patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment as part of a holistic treatment approach.

The Game

“Brain Blossom” offers a unique blend of horticulture challenges and mental games.The mental games are specifically designed to improve cognitive functions such as memory and mental flexibility. The ease of use and playful approach of “Brain Blossom” should make it an ideal tool for patients to combat cognitive impairments associated with Alzheimer’s disease, in an enjoyable and effective way.
